Hamilton County is the emptiest county in the Adirondacks and one of the least populated east of the Mississippi, with only about 4,400 year-round residents. Lake Pleasant is the county seat.
Almost the entire county sits inside the Adirondack Park, the largest protected area in the lower 48. Lakes, forests, and peaks cover nearly all of it.
Speculator and Indian Lake are the hubs for paddlers, hikers, and snowmobilers. If you want quiet, this is about as much of it as the Northeast offers.
With so few residents and only about 7% of homes on fuel oil, we don't expect many quotes here. Even so, it helps to have a few suppliers posting their prices.
