Hamilton County is a county located in the Adirondack Mountains region of the state of New York, United States. It is the third-least populous county in New York, with a population of approximately 4,400 people as of the 2020 census. The county seat is Lake Pleasant.
The county is named after Alexander Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States and is known for its natural beauty, with numerous lakes, forests, and mountains.
Hamilton County is home to the Adirondack Park, which is the largest state park in the United States, covering more than six million acres. The county is also home to numerous other recreational areas, including the Ferris Lake Wild Forest, the Moose River Plains Wild Forest, and the Siamese Ponds Wilderness.
