Cumberland County is in south-central Pennsylvania. The county seat is the town of Carlisle. As of the 2020 census, the population of Cumberland County was approximately 251,000.
Cumberland County is home to many parks, including the 2,000-acre Cumberland Valley Rail Trail. The county is also home to the historic Carlisle Barracks, which is the second-oldest active military installation in the United States.
It hosts several annual events and festivals, including the Cumberland County Fair, the Pennsylvania Apple Festival, and the Carlisle Import and Performance Nationals, which is the largest all-import car show on the East Coast.
Based on a survey in 2019, about 11.6% use fuel oil as their primary heating fuel.
